High Wind, High Performance Prime Focus Feed Antennas Return to AFC Home Page

AFC's antennas deliver high systems margins over varied and extreme environmental conditions. Our field proven technology continue to set industry standards for high quality transmission and reception of satellite signals.
Low Noise temperature, superior side lobes and precision surface tolerance have been combined to provide unequaled performance. A prime focus feed system means less maintenance and delivers excellent side lobe performance. When microwave interference problems are encountered, these antennas will out perform any other type. All AFC antennas comply with FCC and Intelsat side lobe specifications.

AFC's antennas are molded fiberglass composites with a precision parabolic surface mounted on a galvanized steel pedestal. The elevation over azimuth antenna pedestal consists of a welded steel frame mounted on a circular ring rotatable 360 degrees and designed to withstand winds up to 125 mph. Elevation struts enable pointing to be set between 10 degrees and 65 degrees. For international operation, elevation angles to near 90 degrees are available.

A typical installation is completed in 2 to 4 man-hours. Aiding a trouble free installation by minimizing precision foundation requirements, the circular ring base is insensitive to anchor bolt placement errors. Sectionalized antenna models provide savings on handling and transportation costs. And various pedestal, feed and anti-ice antenna options customize the antenna specific to the user's needs.
